yo yo yo yo, baby pops

I am sitting here on a Sunday evening, on the verge of what would be a terrible cold (it would be that but I refuse to get this particular cold because I refuse to be sick ... I have a friend coming into town this weekend). Thinking about work, life, my family, the incredible 2 1/4 hour massage I just got (it was supposed to be 90 minutes but you don't hear me complaining). Things like that.

My new life partner arrived last week. He's beautiful. And he fits right into the house, no fuss, no muss. I keep a picture of him on my desk at work. One picture of him, one picture of my niece, and two pictures of Bea Arthur. Gay? Who cares.

Somehow the people at work have gotten it into their heads that I am a wild Bea Arthur fan. So they now go out of their way to bring me pictures of her, and to roll out new work databases that have her name hidden in them. The best one yet, a deposition exhibit database, had a big pink picture of Bea and a header saying, "Won't you help poor Bea find her deposition exhibits?" So let's keep it just between us that Bea Arthur is not my favorite Golden Girl.

Odds and ends: my brother asked his girlfriend to marry him. She accepted, and now they're rolling merrily towards the wedding (September 30). And yes, I am, since the weekend of New Year's, dating someone. He lives in Idaho, though, so we don't see each other all too often. He's very, very nice. A yoga teacher and massage therapist who will move to Seattle in the fall to get a degree in acupuncture.

Ciao!

New Year, New Look, Same Me

I had a fantastic, amazing, wonderful New Year's weekend, and I hope you did too.

I liked the dots, but I felt like it was time for something new.

Happy New Year!
