Hi

nothing much is new ... I work and work and work. And I'm thinking of buying a condo ... but I have yet to find the time to actually look for one.

At least the summer is almost over. And Cho is coming for a visit next week. So, those things are good.

At a loss for words

I went out, briefly, on Saturday night. And while I was out, I met a regional vice president of Macy's. He told me that I dress "well, for a lawyer." This from a 41-year old out-of-shape man with chin-length bleached hair and bright-white bleached teeth who was stuffed like a sausage into clothing more tragic than hip. I told him he was "dressed well, for a retail queen." He didn't really like that.

The worst ride ever

I have had some harrowing bus experiences, as you all know. But last night's ride really takes the cake.

Some freaky guy (with one dead tooth in front) ASKED ME OUT ON A DATE. He is a checker at my grocery store too, so I guess I won't be going there any more.

Oh Lord. Humor fails me. He chatted me up and down for 40 excruciating blocks. Told me all about grocery checking, and the Los Lotroborostos concert he had just been to (I think he meant Los Lobos). He shouted out, "aren't you a lawyer?!" I said, "Not on this bus!" Ugh.

The horror, the horror!

(I SAID NO.)

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

My landlord is at it again. I came home the other night at around 10, after a work happy hour, and he was nowhere to be found. Or so I thought.

I noticed that all the lights were on in the backyard. Only, wait, we have no lights in our backyard. Well, LL had stationed lamps around the backyard so that he could work in the garden out of the heat and glare of an August sun. Apparently the makeup trick didn't work quite as well as he might have liked, so he's taken to doing all of his yardwork after the sun's gone down.

More power to him, I guess. And some power to the lamps that light his way. I hope he's not mauled by any pandas hiding out in the overgrown bamboo.
